Good inventory control means knowing exactly what stock you have, where it is, which batch it belongs to and when it expires, and being able to act fast when something goes wrong.
For food, dairy, supplements and pharmaceutical brands, it is the difference between a minor issue and a costly recall. Clear traceability is needed to meet regulatory requirements and retailer expectations, and to protect consumers.
At RPC Logistics, accurate stock, full traceability and tested recall processes are built into how we run our warehouses every day.
Batch, serial and expiry captured on arrival and checked again on dispatch, from our warehouse to your customer.
Cycle counts, stock takes and barcode scanning keep your stock accurate every day, with very few claims each year.
Live online stock, scheduled reports, system integration and short-dated alerts, so you always know what you have.

We combine regular cycle counts with full stock takes scheduled to suit your requirements. Wherever possible stock is barcode scanned rather than keyed in, and batch numbers are verified when stock arrives and again when it leaves. The result is consistently accurate stock and very few claims each year.

Batch or lot numbers, serial numbers and expiry dates are captured the moment your stock arrives. Our system enforces first expiry, first out (FEFO) picking so the oldest stock leaves first, and any stock can be placed on hold to block it from being picked for damage, quality checks or a recall.
A recall is when inventory control is truly tested. We run mock recalls as part of our HACCP, RMP and ISO 9001 certifications, so our process works before it is ever needed for real. If one of your products is recalled, here’s what happens:
Affected batches are placed on hold the same day, so nothing else ships.
We report every destination each batch was delivered to, with dispatch dates and proof of delivery.
Our trucks and partners collect stock back from stores, DCs or customers.
Returned stock is held separately, then destroyed or reworked as you instruct.

Every return is inspected and graded as sellable or held. Damaged stock is kept in a separate location, recorded with photos and reported to you, and quality checks are tailored to your expectations and budget.
Our Auckland operation is HACCP and RMP certified and runs an ISO 9001 quality system. See how we support:

We place the affected batches on hold the same day, report exactly where each batch was delivered and when, collect stock back from stores or customers, and quarantine it for destruction or rework as you instruct.
