Getting ranged in a big box DIY retailer is a big step for any brand. Keeping your place on the shelf depends on what happens next: orders delivered complete, on time, correctly labelled and matched to the purchase order.

Hardware retailers run large distribution networks with strict supplier requirements. Late deliveries, missing labels or short-shipped orders can lead to rejected loads and unhappy buyers.

RPC Logistics has delivered to DIY stores and garden centres throughout New Zealand every week for over 25 years. We know what these retailers expect, and we have the systems and team to deliver it, whatever size your products are.

RPC delivers and fulfils into Bunnings and Mitre 10 stores right across New Zealand, on behalf of lawn mower brands, consumable brands, garden brands and more. Our team knows how these retailers order, what they expect at the receiving dock, and how to keep your products moving from our warehouse to their shelves.

What Hardware Suppliers Need

Retail-Ready Labelling

SSCC pallet and carton labels, plus re-labelling and re-packing when products arrive without the right labels.

Orders Picked to PO

Each retailer order is picked, checked and packed against the purchase order, ready to be received at the DC.

Delivered On Time

Our own trucks deliver to hardware stores and retailer distribution centres across Auckland and nationwide.

From Our Warehouse to Their Shelf

Here’s how we get your products to hardware stores and distribution centres:

01

Receive & Store

We receive your stock, check it against your paperwork and store it in our Auckland warehouse with live online visibility.

02

Pick to PO

Each retailer order is picked and packed against the purchase order, with batch details recorded where needed.

03

Labelled the Way Retailers Need

An SSCC (Serial Shipping Container Code) label gives every pallet or carton a unique GS1 barcode. Distribution centres scan it to receive your delivery against the purchase order. We apply SSCC labels for hardware retailers and for supermarket distribution centres, so your stock is accepted first time.

Getting Supplier-Ready

Before your first order ships, make sure you have the basics in place:

  • GS1 barcodes: products and outer cartons need valid GS1 barcodes, and pallets or cartons sent to DCs usually need SSCC labels.
  • Retailer requirements: each retailer has its own supplier manual covering pallet sizes, labelling, paperwork and delivery bookings.
  • Packaging: cartons need to be strong, clearly marked and packed in the quantities the retailer orders.
  • Stock levels: plan enough stock in New Zealand to fill orders in full, including promotions and seasonal peaks.
  • Order accuracy: retailers measure suppliers on complete, on-time deliveries.

If products arrive without the right labels or packaging, our value-added services team can re-label, re-pack and kit them before they go out.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can’t see your question? Call 09 63 444 63 or send us your details.

Can RPC help us supply big box DIY retailers?

Yes. RPC delivers and fulfils into Bunnings and Mitre 10 stores across New Zealand for lawn mower brands, consumable brands, garden brands and more. We store your stock, pick and pack each order to the purchase order, apply SSCC labels and deliver on time, and we have delivered to DIY stores and garden centres nationwide every week for over 25 years.

What is an SSCC label?

An SSCC (Serial Shipping Container Code) is an 18-digit GS1 number printed as a barcode label. It identifies each pallet or carton, so the receiving distribution centre can scan it and match it to your purchase order and shipping notice.

Do I need SSCC labels to deliver to retailer distribution centres?

Most major New Zealand retailers, including hardware chains and supermarkets, require SSCC labels on pallets and cartons delivered to their distribution centres. Check your supplier agreement for the exact requirements.

Can you fix products that arrive with the wrong labels or packaging?

Yes. Our value-added services include re-labelling, re-packing, kitting and quality inspections, so stock meets retailer requirements before it is sent.

Do you only handle bulky products?

No. We handle hardware, DIY, garden and home products of all sizes, from small boxed items in cartons to full pallets.

Do you deliver to individual stores as well as DCs?

Yes. We deliver to distribution centres and direct to stores and garden centres across Auckland and nationwide on our own trucks.
